Just throwing out an idea, also if weather cooperates. According to the groundhogs there is 6 more weeks of winter (lets hope they are wrong). March 8th would be about 6 weeks, so if the date works, I am thinking a meet in Boone at the ledges state park would be a great kick off to spring.

Got it from Ames to the garage at home.... 90 miles in second at 4500 rpm... going 55 didn't dare push it harder. And there it has sat. I need to clean the garage before I can do a whole lot. I think I will take a weekend off sometime soon and spend the whole weekend working on the garage and the car. So I can at least get the transmission out.
FYI if anyone has a vw vanagon auto transmission or a porsche 944 transmission I could trade it straight up for the 350z engine and transmission.... lol

you already have the Z engine and transmission? how much more $$ would be necessary to complete the swap?

No I don't but the guy who has it would be willing to trade them for a transmission for a project he has going... or sell them to me. And I don't know money wise what the swap would entail.... I would have to buy a clutch and pressure plate, pedal, master cylinder etc, wiring, new drive shaft/modify mine, modify mounts, different radiator, etc. So it would more than likely be a money pit for a while but... I would want to fix rust and restore anything I can get my hands on in the process.
But the prospect of having double the hp out of the gates with a 6 speed is very tempting. At least get the engine and trans and gather parts and stuff until I am ready to begin work... and if I lose interest I could probably sell off the engine and transmission fairly painlessly.

Sounds like you have done your research. I know a lot of us here encouraged you to do it but were you leaning this way at all? It would be awesome to hear the sweet sounds of the VQ35 coming from your Z!

Sorry for the derail...
It is looking like March 8th. Probably we should try and get a shelter somewhere or just find some tables and a bbq pit on the lower part of ledges.
Anyone have any specific time?

So currently the forecast is like 22 degrees for the 8th.. :/ might be kinda chilly unless we can make some sweet fires. If it's too cold, do we want to have somewhere indoors we could go as a backup? or maybe delay a for another week or two? I dunno, just a thought. I don't want to miss meeting up with you guys! It's been too long...
